Scandal, treachery and crime are rife in Old London Town. A king
blackmailed by his mistress, dark dealings in opium dens, stolen jewels,
a missing bride - these are cases so fiendishly complex that only
Sherlock Holmes would dare to investigate.

Great classic literature. I really enjoy reading Holmes and
Watson's adventures, solving the mystery, and putting the puzzles
together.
English history is served up along with the amazing mystery stories. I
enjoy the pictures of daily life...the maid bringing in lunch to Holmes
on a pre-arranged schedule, passing the street vendors and beggars,
imagining the opium den frequented by addicts, vivid descriptions of
period clothing, transportation and commerce slipped seamlessly into the
tales. I read this often to refresh the imagery in my mind.
There have been many copies and recreations of the Holmes
Waton duo. (The show Dr. House comes to mind) but nothing beats the
original.
